Name: Perry Meade
Major: Political Science, Minor in French
SC activities: Pre-Law Society, Co-Chair of the Campus Wide Committee for Sustainablity
Statement: I would like to continue serving the Gaucho community as President to ignite a positive change for all students. As the current Director of the Campus Sustainability Council, I want to continue building a sustainable campus, which would include installing solar panels, developing a plastic-free campus, and providing students with free bus and train passes. Together, let’s work to initiate a stronger sense of community on campus. One of the greatest and most impactful ways of doing this is by developing on-campus student housing, which would enrich the college experience for Saddleback students. Let’s incorporate more inter-collaborative projects and events, connecting different academic and student groups on campus to work together on initiatives that would ensure equal representation for all students. It would be my honor to continue serving the Gaucho community and representing our student voice.
Name: JonErik Moyles
Major: Mechanical Engineering, Minor in French
SC activities: Honors Program, Honors Student Council
Statement: My goal as Vice President is to be an advocate for each student. I will work to serve our school community by continuing to bring positive change to our campus, such as working to emphasize sustainable practices, ensuring that non-academic barriers do not hinder a student from achieving their educational goals, and strengthening student engagement and representation on campus. As the current Administrative Coordinator of the Honors Student Council, I have worked to bring awareness to the Honors Program to both present and prospective Gauchos. From interacting with students who currently attend Saddleback and those who are considering attending the college, I understand the direction in which the students are advocating for so that the college and the Honors Program can continue to expand their influence.Let’s work together to establish a stronger sense of student unification so that our campus is a reflection of our voices. I have enjoyed serving this community and would be honored to serve next year as your Vice President.
Director of International and Diversity Student Council
Name: Hasti Estakhri
Major: Business Economics
SC activities: Pre-Law Society and Peer Mentorship Program
Statement: Being a director who represents international and diverse students means the world to me. As a foreign student, I understand the struggle of adapting to a new environment socially and also educationally. From already serving on this council, I have learned that IDSC means bringing people of various backgrounds with different life experiences together. This might lead to generating ideas and perspectives that others may not have ever considered or been aware of. And I have seen and practiced that during my first year at Saddleback college. I seek this position with 4 important goals to accomplish which are: Productivity, Becoming a World Citizen, Growing Acceptance, and Diminishing Discrimination.
Director of Human Resources and Volunteering
Name: Haruka Hijioka
Major: International Development Studies
SC activities: Peer Mentorship Program
Statement: I joined ASG since 2017 fall semester. Becoming a member of ASG was one of my dreams since I started a school at the Saddleback. As for as I’m an international student, I came here not knowing anyone else, so the beginning of my school life was lonely and I was not so much active. However I had a desire in my mind, which is to become more active and want to challenge as many possible as I can, so I decided apply to ASG. I’ve always felt that even though I faced challenges along the way, all of my experiences during a student have been rewarding. Since I joined ASG last year, my life was changed. These past days and experience helped me to grow significantly as a person and student. Most of my favorite things, which I enjoyed of ASG is to find my things out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed my position of event, in addition I found new myself those past days. I found my self, I’m feel pressure and enjoying, when I was doing helping people, such as volunteer work. Back to my ASG days, I spend most of my time helping blood drive or pancake donation event. Since I joined, I developed my leader ship, social and also time management skills, so this coming new semester I would like to become a position of "Director of Human Resources and Volunteering” to involved better place, which are not campus only but also our community.
Director of Honors Student Council
Name: Devin Weathersby
SC activities: Honors Program, Honors Representative
Statement: I want to help my fellow HSC peers transfer into institutions of their choice, and when they are asked about what they did during student council they will be able to recall many activities and events that show their dedication to their communities, and academic studies. I hope that under my leadership HSC will be a place where the community has an active role in their college environment. The Honors Student Council is a positive organization that should reward students who do exceptional work; I believe in hard working individuals ,those who sacrifice their time and attention on extracurricular activities are exemplary students. I know I'm up for the responsibilities of Honors director and my merit for this position is: I'm an incumbent Honor's student representative for the Fall 2017 to Spring 2018 semesters. I have worked for many volunteer events for HSC, but I do it because I hope to serve the students at Saddleback College. I want the community to hold me accountable for my actions and I hope to learn from the people I serve. I'm running to continue the best community I've been a part of. Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it, and have a good day.

I am excited to continue that work through the next year, while keeping a clear vision on any other goals that the events team comes up with in the mean time.
