The Program: #BeEmpowered and Activate!

Section 1: Digging Deep

MINDSET: WIRED TO GROW

We start with studying the power of mindset. Developing a growth mindset is a crucial foundation to proactivity, self-development and leadership. We are wired to grow!

MAKING MEANING: NARRATIVE MAPPING

We make sense of who we are, and who we want to be, through stories, what we call "narratives". Some stories a large and defining, providing the foundation for how we interpret our cultures, background and worldviews. Stories can work for us or against us. We will map and uncover who we are and who we want to be.

Section 2: Opportunity Moments

OM SPACE: PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT

This is the space of opportunity, how we choose to respond to stimulus and interact with others.

PROACTIVITY: ACTIVATE

Through the personal work of self-assessment, narrative mapping, exploring OM Space, and finding empowerment we dig into proactivity concepts, core competencies, and immediate goals.

Be Proactive.

Our Inspiration

Carol Dweck researches "growth mindset" - the idea that we can grow our brain's capacity to learn and to solve problems. In this talk, she describes two ways to think about a problem that's slightly too hard for you to solve. Are you not smart enough to solve it ...

http://www.ted.com Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity. TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers are invited to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes -- including speakers such as Jill Bolte Taylor, Sir Ken Robinson, Hans Rosling, Al Gore and Arthur Benjamin.

Dr. Norman Doidge believes the way we think about brains is wrong, and more research could unlock innovative treatments to serious disorders. You are probably a bit of a blamer - most of us are. But why should we give it up? In this witty sequel to our most watched RSA Short, inspirational thinker Brené Brown considers why we blame others, how it sabotages our relationships, and why we desperately need to move beyond this toxic behaviour.

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this terrific and witty closing of TEDxLiverpool, Sir Ken Robinson argues that talent is often buried and that we need to search for it. In fact, the foundation of wisdom may be the willingness to go and look for it..

This RSA Animate was adapted from a talk given at the RSA by Sir Ken Robinson, world-renowned education and creativity expert and recipient of the RSA's Benjamin Franklin award. http://www.ted.com Brene Brown studies human connection -- our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. A talk to share.
